GERIATRICS

The medical needs of the elderly in Israel continue to grow as a result of increases in life expectancy and the arrival of large numbers of elderly immigrants. As a response to this need, Herzog’s Geriatric Division has developed rapidly over the years.

This division includes but is not limited to:

  • Internal Medicine
  • Physical Rehabilitation
  • Respiratory Support
  • Complex Nursing
  • Osteoporosis
  • Treatment from Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and other dementias.

Herzog’s Department of Psychogeriatrics cares for two major types of patients: geriatric patients with severe dementia, and patients with chronic severe psychiatric illness. Elderly psychiatric patients require a specialized combination of psychiatric and geriatric long-term care.
